Leading in Christ
Being a reformed Christian school leader takes vision, expertise, and the ability to inspire an entire community to grow in Christ.
What has the biggest influence on a student's success? In the 21st century, schools now dissect, disaggregate, and use data to improve instruction for all groups of students—and high-quality teaching has emerged as the overwhelming answer. But quality teaching demands effective school leadership, especially because the competition in Christian education has increased and the pool of potential school leaders has decreased.
CSI is fully committed to developing strong Christian leadership at all school sites and at all levels. From teacher leaders to Board members, relevant and experiential programs are available. Determine your needs according to this progression of leadership development programs.
Christian Schools International's Leadership Development programs focus on the following:
Facilitating learning that guides Christian school leaders to craft climate, culture, and community in ways that advance student learning, promote faculty flourishing, and serve as powerful acts of worship
Helping you continue to make a meaningful contribution to your team, which means you become more effective in the workplace. This development assists you in advancing in your career and moving into new positions where you can lead, manage, influence, coach, and mentor others.
Ensuring that you, in your leadership position, stay relevant, informed, and up to date. You are more aware of the changing trends and directions in your profession. The pace of change is probably faster than it's ever been - and this truth is the new culture that we live and work in.
The Emerging Leaders Development Institute (ELDI) is designed for emerging leaders. This weeklong summer boot camp explores today's leadership challenges.
The Principal Development Institute (PDI) is a three-day program where cohort groups of 16 work together and focus on critical issues facing Christian schools.
Board Governance Workshops are critical to the long-term health of our schools, designed to make board members more effective in their roles.
CSI is pleased to offer a six-part webinar series to our member schools focusing on enrollment and marketing. We have engaged Rick Newberry, president of Enrollment Catalyst, and Andy Lynch, president & CEO of North Star Marketing, to help our member schools think through several timely topics related to school growth. The CSI Enrollment & Marketing Webinar Series will be helpful for heads of school, marketing, admissions, and advancement team members.
Participants in the Emerging Leaders Development Institute (ELDI)form a network of future leaders in Christian education while learning about relational servant leadership and effective management and governance. Designed for teachers, ELDI is a hybrid program, both in person and virtual, that will allow you to focus on developing an understanding of school leadership and the role that God may be planning for you. The deadline to apply to the summer institute has passed.
The next Principal Development Institute will be held on February 18–21, 2024. PDI offers principals the opportunity to build a network of professional peers who stand ready to support them in carrying out their increasingly complex calling. Stay tuned for more information about applying.

“I have attended both ELDI and PDI and have been encouraged and affirmed by both conferences. The instruction and interaction with instructors and other attendees was very deep and meaningful. The teaching and learning both in class and outside of class was excellent.”
