CSI 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
The Christian Schools International 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan is available for member schools in the US. Find out more about our defined contribution plan and consider joining our community of participating schools.
As the plan sponsor, CSI welcomes the opportunity to serve your school’s retirement needs. The next opportunity to enroll in the plan is October 1, 2023, and your paperwork would need to be submitted no later than July 1, 2023.
The CSI 403(b) Plan is a single program, multiple employer plan (MEP). The Plan’s design creates a powerful economy of scale with a single administrative structure and a very favorable negotiated fee structure.
TIAA, TAG Resources, and CBIZ Retirement Services have been selected to administer the Plan. These service providers will relieve schools of many of the responsibilities they would have with their own newly formed 403(b) or 401(k) plan.
Once a participating school’s money is contributed, TAG and CBIZ will be responsible for complying with a wide array of federal rules for retirement plans, so participating schools will not have to shoulder the same types of responsibilities they would have with their own, stand-alone 403(b) or 401(k) plan.
The Plan’s service providers (TIAA, TAG, and CBIZ) will provide a high level of service, including regular and comprehensive communications, participant education, and dedicated representatives to be available for questions and problem solving.
The total annual cost is $190 per participant for TIAA and TAG Resources to administer the Plan. When the total number of participants exceeds 1,500, the cost per participant will be reduced as more participants join.
Despite the creation of a single program, the Plan will provide key areas of plan design flexibility, including employer contributions, vesting of employer money, and the availability of loans to participants.
