Elementary Principal

The Elementary Principal holds immediate oversight responsibilities for the curriculum, teaching, assessment, and outcomes of all things Elementary

PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS:

Primary working relationships are with Elementary teachers and students, collaborating with the director team, collaborating with the school counselor, Inclusion specialist, and working with all staff as necessary to meet the mission of the school

Outside the school, primary relationships are with parents and the broader SCS community

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. In collaboration with the Head of School and teaching staff, responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing:
  2. Learning outcomes across the school’s curriculum
  3. The effectiveness of teaching and Elementary Teachers
  4. Support and consult with the school counselor to schedule classes for teaching staff and students
  5. Manage the budget for their school in consultation with the Head of School and the Financial Manager
  6. Provide support to Elementary teachers and students
  7. Participate in hiring pipeline, Elementary teacher evaluations, and other human resource responsibilities for Elementary teachers in their school at the direction / in collaboration with the Head of School
  8. Engage parents as appropriate in the learning of students and functions of the school
  9. Research best practices in teaching and learning for the continual improvement of the educational program of the school
  10. Write and present regular summary reports for the Head of School, board, and members of the school community
  11. In collaboration with and final approval of the Head of School, write, distribute, and enforce the policies, manuals, and handbooks for their school
  12. Lead regular staff meetings and special events for their school
  13. Fulfill a leadership and coordination role in accreditation self-studies, implementing school improvement plans, and in meeting state requirements in their school including minimum qualifications for Elementary teachers with oversight from the Head of School
  14. Participate in the admissions process in collaboration with admissions personnel and in assessing the specialized needs of students with the School Counselor
  15. Serve as a collaborative member of the team of directors, providing oversight and leadership, and setting a positive example for staff, students, and the community
  16. Work with HOS in overseeing the extended care program
  17. Teach courses as assigned
  18. Maintain a Washington Elementary Teacher Certification
  19. Other duties as assigned by the Head of School

Job Requirements

Shoreline Christian School is accepting applications for a full time dynamic Elementary Principal to join our school’s community beginning the fall of 2024. We offer medical, dental, vision, 403B, life insurance, and PTO. Salary starts at $90,000. Our greatest accomplishment and hope as teachers is that every child will know that they are special and created in God’s image.

The Elementary Principal holds immediate oversight responsibilities for the curriculum, teaching, assessment, and outcomes of their school in consultation with the Head of School. The Principal manages the personnel, budget, scheduling, and programmatic functions of their school in collaboration with other staff and oversight from the Head of School.

Education Requirements

Minimum Required:

  • BA Education
  • 5+ years elementary teaching experience
  • Absolutely love Christian Education!

Preferred:

  • BA Elementary Education
  • Masters Degree
  • 5+ years elementary teaching experience
  • 2+ years administration
