Athletic Director

DMCS is seeking a full-time athletic director for the 2024-2025 school year.

DeMotte Christian School is seeking its next athletic director to oversee our middle school and high school athletic programs.

Candidates must:

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Be able to articulate a Christian statement of faith and purpose for Christian education.
  • Subscribe to the purpose and principles listed in Section 2.01 of Article II and the educational philosophy contained in Section 3.01 of Article III of the Bylaws.
  • Be an active communicant member in good standing of a church which subscribes to the historic Reformed confessions listed in Section 2.01 of Article II of the Bylaws.
  • Agree to educate his/her current and prospective children in CSI Christian day schools grade 1-12.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with other adults.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work with day school age students.
  • Agree to adhere to the Marriage and Sexuality Position Statement.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  1. Schedules and contracts all interscholastic athletic events.
  2. Schedules and contracts officials for all home games.
  3. Is present or designates a representative to supervise at all home athletic events.
  4. Announces or designates a representative to announce starting line-ups and opening prayer for all home games.
  5. Coordinates the scheduling of gate, score, and time keepers, and event supervisor for all home games.
  6. Coordinates security for home athletic events when necessary.
  7. Coordinates appropriate transportation for away games.
  8. Verifies eligibility of students and provides follow-up on eligibility in accordance with school policy.
  9. Coordinates with the guidance counselor individualized academic plans for students receiving exceptions to normal eligibility standards.
  10. Interviews and recommends hiring of coaches.
  11. Coordinates the inventorying and ordering of supplies and uniforms.
  12. Manages other duties and assignments as determined by the Principal and/or the Board.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Education, Sports Management or related field.
  • Previous experience in athletics and/or education is preferred.
