The Secondary School’s Assistant Principal at Bradenton Christian School plays a crucial role in fostering an educational environment rooted in a Reformed Biblical Worldview. This individual will collaborate closely with the Secondary Principal, faculty, and staff to ensure the academic, spiritual, and social development of students in alignment with the school’s mission and values. The Assistant Principal will provide leadership in curriculum development, student discipline, teacher supervision, and fostering a Christ-centered community within the Secondary School (grades 6-12).

Academic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Secondary Principal and faculty to develop and implement a rigorous, comprehensive curriculum that integrates Biblical principles across all subject areas.
  • Provide support and resources to teachers to enhance instructional effectiveness and student engagement.
  • Oversee the assessment and evaluation processes to ensure academic standards are maintained and met.

Student Development and Discipline:

  • Implement and enforce disciplinary policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, fostering a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their spiritual growth, character development, and academic success.
  • Work closely with teachers, counselors, and parents to address student behavior and academic concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.

Faculty and Staff Support:

  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers to enhance their instructional practices.
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities to support ongoing growth and learning among faculty and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Secondary Principal in recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified faculty and staff members.

Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate a strong sense of community within the secondary school, fostering positive relationships among students, faculty, staff, and parents.
  • Represent the school at various events, meetings, and functions within the school community and broader educational community.
  • Serve as a liaison between the secondary school and other departments within the school, as well as external stakeholders.

Spiritual Leadership:

  • Lead by example in modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle and integrating Biblical principles into all aspects of school life.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students and faculty to engage in spiritual formation activities, including chapel services, prayer groups, and service projects.

Job Requirements

  • A committed Christian with a strong understanding of and commitment to Reformed theology and a Biblical worldview; active participation and weekly worship in a local Christian church required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting; administrative experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong, positive relationships within the school community.
  • Understanding of current trends and best practices in education, particularly within the context of Christian education.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership or a related field is preferred.
  • Eligibility for certification or licensure as a school administrator preferred.
  • Eligible for Florida Education certification.
