Band Teacher (Shared Time)
Seeking a Band Teacher to team-teach band students in grades 5 through 12 at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School and High School.
- Provide instruction and assisting students in developing musical knowledge and skills
- Collaborate with the band director in planning and preparation for performances
- Share in lead teaching and co-directing of various grade levels
- Assist in administrative responsibilities:
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
Education Requirements
- Michigan Teaching Certificate required with Music endorsement
