Seeking a Preschool Spanish immersion teacher to guide and instruct preschool students with curriculum and activities in a safe and developmentally-appropriate classroom (2024-2025).

Pay Rate: $20.50-$24.50 DOE

Summary: Guides and instructs preschool students with curriculum and activities in a safe and developmentally-appropriate classroom under the direction of the Director of Preschool. Preschool Spanish Immersion Teacher models a servant’s heart and promotes an attitude of respect, teamwork and professionalism by speaking well of other faculty and staff members; supporting our entire school system-lower school, middle school, upper school; praying for and with other faculty and staff; encouraging others in Godly living and excellence; lovingly holding others accountable; actively pursuing ways to encourage members of the schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Must have an advanced proficiency in Spanish (B2 and above) and seek to continue to develop their biliteracy
  • Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations
  • Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the school
  • Assigns lessons and corrects homework, quizzes, tests, projects, etc. in a timely manner
  • Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress
  • Keeps attendance records
  • Maintains discipline in classroom and demonstrates effective classroom management skills
  • Communicates with parents to discuss student progress and problems
  • Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops, and independent educational study for growth
  • Performs related duties such as recess and after school monitoring, small group leadership outside of the classroom, sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, counseling student in adjustment and academic problems

Qualifications:

  • Profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Maintain a positive Christian testimony
  • Be involved in a local church of like faith and practice, consistent with the RCS Statement of Faith
  • Agree with and adhere to the employee handbook
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to meet people comfortably and engage in substantive conversation
  • Must be able to work diligently and independently and make judgments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle financial matters with integrity and with concern for confidentiality
  • Ability to use technology

Education Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees preschool instructional aide to ensure his or her job description is adhered to.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 12 units in Early Childhood Education.

Credentials, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Preschool Teacher certificate is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification, cleared live scan fingerprint and cleared TB test are required.
