Physical Education Teacher
Committed Christ-following Physical Education instructor who can confidently lead K5-12th grade classes with grace, excellence and fun!
- Preach the Gospel of Christ through relationship with students as well as through the content of the classes
- Work with a team of committed professionals to daily deliver effective physical education instruction to elementary, junior high and high school students
- Lead classes and direct daily lessons, interact with fellow faculty and staff, partner with parents and lead students to value fitness and their physical being as a God-given gift and responsibility to care for
- Help plan and execute special events like Field Day or select PE field trips
- Work with your colleagues to order and maintain PE equipment
- Create/conduct regular assessment of your students' progress and record/report that progress to parents through our school database/parent portal
- Take attendance and be mindful of/address security and safety issues as they arise
Job Requirements
- Demonstrate a living and growing faith in Jesus Christ as your only hope for salvation, attend/hold membership in a Bible-believing church, and articulate an understanding of the Reformed faith through lifestyle, words and approach to all things, including your role as teacher
- Assessing, grading and reporting student progress
- Interacting well with parents as needed
- Teamwork/collegiality as demonstrated through cooperative planning and teaching
- Ability to perform, demonstrate and model a myriad of physical skills to your students
- Ability/desire to coach an after school athletic team,. though not required, is a HUGE plus
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physical Education or a related field is desirable. The right candidate may substitute experience for the degree.
- A valid teaching certificate in PE or related field is a plus
- Any personal training or related certification is also desirable
