High School Mathematics Teacher
Seeking a High School Math Teacher in a diverse Christian day school in the Washington, DC northern suburbs in Maryland with a great community.
For August 2021: Do you love teaching students and want to grow in a strong community and faith-based environment? Are you an active and compassionate teacher? Are you a mature adherent to the Christian faith, who studies and loves the Bible and God's people, and active in your church or congregation? Washington Christian Academy is looking for a High School Math Teacher. This individual will love math and also love sharing with students and leading them in their mathematical growth and thinking.
This position requires an individual with advance writing and communication skills, able to guide students and families in a complex culture from a Biblically informed, authentic and historically traditional faith. While not associated with any church or denomination, WCA was founded by members of Reformed congregations, and teachers will commit to learning of and teaching from that perspective.
WCA is a highly diverse K-12 Christian day school just off Georgia Ave (16227 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD) in Montgomery County. We serve approximately 250 students from 60 churches. WCA is thoroughly Christian, yet seeks to be active and involved in culture and the broader world, teaching character and critical thinking through a robust curriculum. - Mature Christian faith, commitment to traditional Biblical standards
- Association or membership, and active involvement, in a home church
- Demonstrated leadership and involvement with children
- BA degree from an accredited college or university
- Thoughtful communicator, a servant, skillful and curious about subject area
Preferred but not mandatory:
- Familiarity with Calvinism or Reformed Creeds
- State teacher certification
- Teaching experience
