A former student at two CSI member schools, Nick Balcer has recently joined Christian Schools International, a leader in Christian education services, as Curriculum & Instruction Advancement Officer.
Balcer comes to CSI with a background in finance and marketing. He will indirectly be serving CSI member schools by leading the fundraising efforts for Bible and science professional development events with the Curriculum & Instruction team.
In his new role, Balcer’s goal is to support the Curriculum & Instruction team in finding ways to continuously help students excel in the classroom by providing ongoing training and learning opportunities to Bible and science teachers, as well as support curriculum needs.
“I’m excited about the new challenges and opportunities I’ll have to help advance the Curriculum and Instruction team,” Balcer said. “It’s certainly new territory, as no one has done this type of work in this way before at CSI, and I’m hopeful it will lead to creative ideas.”
Prior to joining CSI, Balcer was a development officer at Unity Christian High School, focusing on donor relations and marketing. A Unity Christian grad, returning to his alma mater brought a new challenge Balcer eagerly pursued.
Balcer stayed in West Michigan for his undergraduate degree, earning a bachelor’s in finance from Grand Valley State University.
Outside of work, Nick officiates soccer at the Division I collegiate, professional, and semiprofessional levels and referees 120 games a year, traveling around the country. He’s also a fervent runner and a self-described “foodie.” A lover of books, he’s currently reading A Higher Loyalty by James Comey.
