Hillcrest Christian School

Hillcrest School is a Christian international school based on an American curriculum. A number of Christian Organizations (i.e. Missions and Churches) called Cooperating Bodies jointly administer and operate the School as set forth in the Constitution through the Board of Governors. There are 240 students from 30 countries. The school is governed by eight “cooperating body” missions and churches that oversee the administration, set policy and provide staff. There are 35 teaching staff from 10 countries that are seconded or hired by the school for both short and long term assignments. The school endeavors to maintain a high standard of education in its program, provide a positive Christian witness in its outreach, and manifest a spirit of good will in all its contacts. The school differs from other schools of the area in that its curriculum is based mainly on the American system of education, is staffed by teachers provided by various cooperating bodies, and receives no financial assistance from the government. Despite its uniqueness, it adheres to policies and regulations set forth by the Ministry of Education and seeks to cooperate fully with the ministry. Hillcrest is located in Jos, a city of over 500,000 people in the moderate climate of Plateau State in central northern Nigeria.
