ELDI a great success!
Nineteen teachers and future leaders of CSI schools in Canada and the US gathered in the beautiful setting of the Cedar Springs Christian Retreat Center in Sumas, WA July 7-11, 2008 for the ninth annual Educators Leadership Development Institute (ELDI).The week-long event introduced prospective leaders to the full range of tasks involved in school leadership, provided valuable insights into each person’s gifts and calling, and opened doorways to networks and regional contacts.
Through presentations, group interactions, simulations, lectures, panel discussions, personal journaling, and one-on-one dialogue, each person became more aware and more skilled in areas such as curriculum leadership, board governance, personnel management, parent communication, and spiritual leadership, among many others.
To be accepted into ELDI, participants must show some evidence of leadership gifts in their current school situation, and also receive recommendations from their principal/supervisor.
ELDI is funded primarily through friends of CSI, with participants paying only a small fraction of the total cost.
Applications for the next cohort in the summer of 2009 will be accepted beginning in January. Watch for the information, and make sure that your school has someone attending this invaluable event! For more ELDI information, click here.
