About the New BIble Curriculum

As Christ followers, we believe that it is only by the study of the word of God that we understand who we are and our connection to the story of God reaching out to His people over the centuries. It is the Big Story of God saying “I made you” and “I love you” and “I want a relationship with you” and “I want you to be a part of my work in my kingdom which is now and yet to come.”

We want our students to choose the story of God and learn how to find their place in that story. We want students to understand who they are in relationship to God, to make authentic connections between the stories of God’s people and their own lives, and to understand what responding to God means. Therefore, we need to help our students connect their head, heart, and hands.

It is our hope that this curriculum encourages those powerful connections with students on a personal level. As Christian educators we believe as Nicholas Wolterstorff states that “knowledge and ability don’t yield action – one must cultivate tendency, disposition, or inclination.” How then do we as teachers cultivate tendency, disposition, and inclination? That is the job we take on – and the curriculum we offer – with purpose and determination, guided by the work of the Holy Spirit. We pray that this curriculum may serve as significant tinder for the Spirit of God to light ablaze in the lives of students – equipping them to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
