About Dual Enrollment with Spring Arbor University and Christian High Online

Dual enrollment is a program where a high school junior or senior who enjoys an academic challenge and is a motivated student who takes an online college course in addition to their regular high school classes.

Dual enrollment allows students who are adequately prepared to take a college level course while they are still in high school the opportunity to get a head start on their college career.

Here are just a few of the advantages of taking dual enrollment courses with SAU…

  • Shorten the time necessary to complete the requirements of a high school diploma and a postsecondary college degree
  • Earn college credit for attending SAU or credit that can be transferred to the college or university you will attend
  • Enjoy online courses with outstanding instructors who teach from a Christian worldview
  • Broaden the scope of curricular options available
  • Increase the depth of study available for a particular subject
  • Start college while still in high school
  • Obtain an introduction to college-level work
  • Enroll in classes not available in high school

    Here is how it works:

  • Like Christian High Online classes, the SAU Dual Enrollment courses will be offered online through Christian High Online’s learning platform (Blackboard)
  • Classes are instructor led by highly qualified Spring Arbor University online professors
  • Classes will be made up of high school juniors and seniors from North America and beyond (students will not be integrated into classes with SAU’s traditional and adult student body)
  • These are college courses’ students can expect to spend between 10 to 15 hours per week for each dual enrollment course
  • The class is conducted asynchronously (meaning, it’s not real-time); each week you’ll have projects, assignments, discussion board postings and due dates that you’ll be required to do, but which days of the week and time of day for you to do your classwork is up to you. However, this form of learning is not self paced and it’s not online correspondence, so you’ll be expected to follow along with your classmates and participate in threaded discussions, etc.
